It was the first time i'm watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics :D<br />I started watching at 8.10 so missed 10 minutes of the ceremony. When i switched on the tv, they were singing the China National Anthem.<br />Yea then after that the stadium ground got this screen thingie as the platform where the ppl perform on it.<br />The first scene on the screen showed a traditional chinese scroll unrolling and there was a huge piece of blank paper on top. Then some dancers came along with ink on their palms and they started dancing while painting on the paper at the same time. Then they showed inventions made in china history like paper etc.<br />Then after a while, the painting was done. It was a mountain and a sun on top.<br />Yea then got some more performances.<br />Then got this performance where there were some kids on the platform with giant brushes and they started to paint the picture that was drawn earlier by the dancers.<br />After they are done, the transformed the black and white picture into a colorful masterpiece. (The mountain was colored and the sun had a smily face on it)<br />Then it was the marching in of the teams that are gonna take part in the Olympics. So there i was stoning in front of the tv waiting to see team Singapore. I waited for like 1 hour plus then Singapore finnaly came out. There were over 150 countries taking part. During the march in, there was a row of dancers dancing to welcome them. They damn sway sia they had to dance for 1 hour 15 minutes plus non-stop. lol poor things :D<br />Then finally, after the speeches and stuff, it was the lighting of the Olympic flame. So some former atheletes carried the torch and passed it to other athletes in the stadium and finally to some dude who was gonna light the flame. After his torch was lit, he was lifted up (yes lifted up) with a rope tied to his body and he "ran" the circumference of the top of the stadium and finally reaching the place for the flame to be lit (duno wad it is called lol) Yea so he lit the flame and everyone was cheering and fireworks came out (There were like at least 4 fireworks performances throughout the whole ceremony.) The last fireworks performance aka the finale was amazing. Fireworks "squirted" out from the top of the stadium in a circular motion and many other buildings around the stadium also sprayed golden fireworks from their roofs.
